I peered into the axolotl tank earlier and found Jeffrey wallowing in the bubbles, every time he floated out he would position him self back.

It's like he's enjoying his very own jacuzzi! I love the gold flecks on him too, he looks beautiful, or should I say handsome!

Such a nice coloration on your axolotl Julia. And he is so playful too; I wish my axies were that bold! Thanks for sharing.

Julia!

That looks awesome! Is that the airstone you were telling me about? I am so going to get one of those!

He looks so pleased with himself .

Very nice photo.Looks like a happy Axolotl.

I love a bright and bubbly axolotl! Jeffrey has it in spades ;).

Hi!

Thats an excellent photo! Such a lovely looking Axie!

Quick question (although it may seem obvious, do forgive me), but does an airstone assist in oxygen levels in the tank?

Cheers, Mike.

I'm not sure if it does. I put mine on just to help get the water at the top of the tank moving a bit. I overfilled it during the last water change , the water coming into the tank is not moving the water at the top much. Other than that it is usually just switched on for the axolotl to play with. I put it on again this morning and Jeffrey was lurking in his cave, with in minutes he was hovering over it..2 hours later he is still there.

Hehe Julia, I am going to entice you with the prospects of getting Maddy a leucistic or gold 'princess' again after seeing your handsome axie.

Cheers.

Aww what a gorgeous axie Jeffrey is!! Those gold speckles are beautiful!!!

One question Bellabello.... I bought one of those airstones a few weeks back and it doesnt sink to the bottom, it just floats. How have you managed to get it to stay on the bottom?? I got so stressed with it that I just decided to not bother keeping it in the tank and wasted the money i'd spent on it!

Claire.

Hi!

Try placing a number of rocks around the airstone. The air will still filter through, and it will hold it in place!

Cheers, Mike.

Or you could get some airline suction cups to hold the airline to the bottom of the tank like i did.

He's handsome! :D I wonder if the bubbles feel good on their skin?

Any chance you could video that behaviour please?
