Just hatched what do i do?

Hey guys 2 of my c.orientalis eggs hatched and was wondering what i should feed them and grindal worms are the only available option and they're live is that good, is that a nutritional option and also they dont seem to move is this normal? and how long will this last ...they moved quickly when i touched the water please let me know guys heres a pic of the two that hatched and the other 2 that are gonna hatch soon

No, they won't move much at all at first. Grindal worms are fine, but you should try and gutload them as much as you can.

Grindal worms are fine, but from what I remember, they won't get what's needed to develop their orange belly color from grindal worms. This won't affect their health, so if you don't mind the, having a paler yellow belly color, that won't be a problem. However it is always a good idea to provide more food options, a more varied diet. I feed my Orientalis larvae chopped blackworms and daphnia, both will also provide the nutrients for the orange belly color.

Yes i did do research but just wanted to make sure i knew all of it and it seems i was right and also is it normal for the female to lay just a couple eggs her 1st time? only laid 4 could u tell me some info so i know that im right?

Hey Kaysie yes i did some research but i just wanted to know anything other then what i already know and by gutload what do u mean cuz all i feed grindal worms are oatmeal And btw all of them are now hatched and suprisingly almost done growing their front arms for some reason :O

I found the larvae to be pretty dull, except when it's feeding time. Mine didn't move about for ages either. I found it easiest to buy packs of brine shrimp mix that has the right ratio of salt to eggs and hatched them in a couple of upside down coke bottles with an aeriator, then I filtered out the hatchlings using an old coffee maker and filter. I tried chopping up all kinds of worms/flies etc and pond water but found the brine shrimp mix much more convenient and you can order it online no probs.

I have no idea about the amount of eggs, sure you didn't miss any? My two females laid heaps over the course of a few months, maybe put more live plants in? Could be that they have more eggs but just no good place to lay them. Anyhoo good luck with the larvae, it's fascinating watching them develop, but a bit stressful till you find the right method that works for you

Gutloading is the act of feeding your feeder items (like grindal worms) items which increase their nutrition. So feed them things that also contain calcium and things that will help increase the color in the larvae, etc.

My newts hatched about 4 weeks ago i started them on baby brine shrimp and eventually moved to adult brine shrimp either alive or frozen they ate trhem both. Now i also feed blackworms to them in the water and on land and drosophila. They all are growing great and their bellies turned red in about 3 weeks from hatching.
