For a science research experiment I'm going to be raising baby axolotls, so I had a few questions on the controls. The enclosures are going to be sterilite containers that are 53 cm long x 43 cm wide x 27 cm high, just wanted to see if this was all right. I also have a question on food, my teacher is able to order any type of live food from this catalog so I just wanted to hear what you guys think would make the best diet. I appreciate all the help, Thanks!

Felix, I hate to sound rude, but these are really basic questions that are answered thousands of times over on the forum. The search function is located just above where you log in, or you can just browse through the threads in the Axolotl enclosure section.

Daphnia (moina) should be easier if you can get a large enough culture since you can leave them in the containers with the axolotls. BBS dies in freshwater so you have to do a water change after each feeding. It can be tedious.

Blackworms are also good, but tricky to keep alive (at least for me). Probably the most nutritious option for axie larvae though. I'd go with either daphnia or blackworms as a staple, and keep BBS eggs ready in case of difficulties.

Sorry kaysie, I only asked these questions because in regards to the plastic containers there was a thread that only somewhat described if plastic containers are deadly to young axolotls. The food question was only because I know that some people use certain foods because they're on a budget but because the school is paying for it, I don't have to worry necessarily about price. I'll make sure to research more carefully next time, sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks.
P.S.- Thanks a lot hacelepues

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
