Dietmar, great pictures. I also checked out your site. You take very good pictures and have a good visual layout for you page(good because I don't understand German). I don't really know if I've seen a filter mat(translated correctly?) setup for an aquarium before, but it seems like a great Idea.

its not a shame not to understand German ... its a shame that I haven't up the site in English too.

that Hamburger Mattenfilter on the ground was just a weired thought to get more space in the tank for the animals AND never ever have to clean up the ground anymore ... but it didn't work out this way ... you have to clean up the tank like one with gravel too.

Wow....what lovely axoltol . I spend a lot of time trying to photograph my adult male and his 12/13 week larvae and have never come even slightly close on the quality! I envy you!!!

hey, no need to envy ... just try a macro lense with extension tube like I did ... shouldn't be a problem to catch your monsters filling up the whole pic ... and its even possible to zoom a bit - just take a look
