In books i read that newts native to my country (I.alpestris, T.cristatus, L.vulgaris and L.montandoni) feed on leeches, i think it will be no problem for such big caudates as a tiger to eat a leech.
I feed my stuff leeches whenever the chance arises. I don't have the luxury down here of being able to buy them in the bait stores so I have to rely on finding them myself. Whether it be the ones found in blackworm cultures or the ones you find in the marsh muck I've never had a salamander refuse them. I do only feed them by tongs though to reduce the possibility of them getting loose in a tank.
