Do Leucistic axies have black insides? I can see a big red organ and spiral lyrics white ones but a lot of his torso is black inside. Has he eaten a ton of sand or do they have dark organs?

He's being odd today and not interested in food like he normally is.

Depending on the age and size yes you can see through the skin, it's quite translucent. It's less visible as they get older. That's not to say that he didn't eat any sand though.

A few hours have passed and I can see more of the spirally intestines and the black is more to the back. Is it just food being pushed through the stomach and moving around his insides?

Google "axolotl intestines" or "axolotl anatomy" you can possibly be able to identify the organs if he is clear enough. Also, I think some of their insides appear darker after feeding like the way the gills gain more color. (not positive though)

It's just so weird to see somethings insides!! I'm thinking that, when I got him, it was 40+ degrees out, so his tank was 20-21.5 and his metabolism was higher, so he was all over, swimming, exploring, hungry!!!! Now that it's cooler, his tank stays at 17, so perhaps that is why he's hiding more and not as voracious when eating. Everything has slowed down. And now I can see all the food going through. Before, I was finding like 3 poops a day!!!! I've found 1 since the tank went down to 17, but he is still eating daily.

These little fellas are fascinating.
When my coppers were young I could see their stomach and liver when they had eaten.
