Hi Jojovial, welcome to the forum! Cute Axie and his little Buddha friend Is the little Buddha ceramic? Some Ceramic Glazes contain led that is harmful to humans and animals. Led is very dangerous. If the Buddha is painted with a glaze that is led free, than it is ok to keep in your tank please post more pictures when you find the time to, your Axie is very cute! ^_^ I would love to see your aquarium set up.

objects bouddha and wood bark are synthetic plastic resin but plate are cemaric.is that good ?
tank 240 litre ,with only 110 litre water.2 light,
an external filter ,and a second water pomp for the chiller

i try to have the less flow i can ,so i divide the tank in 2 part, a part with the filter flow for oxygen and my lionhead,i use the fish for cleaning the sand when i take off the plastic divider

the ultimate tool ...a bamboo stick use like a pliers ,useful for cichlids pellet ,piece of frozen fish ,worm etc ...so i control what is eaten ,nothing is lost .the little red thread is for shaking frozen waxworm

hehe.. ur paint is cool.. ;)

Jojovial you are one funny guy! Love the artwork and the funny pictures. your tank looks very nice! I love the little bonsai tree on the floating piece of wood and the way the tank is divided. the cermamic plates are ok if they are plates you can eat off of. If they are decoration plates, then I would not keep them in there because led may be present in the ceramic glaze. Other than that, so very happy to see so many lovely pictures. thanks so much for sharing! ^_^

Nice idea with the bambo stick.

I use chopsticks myself

Welcome to the forum!

jojovial, your tank is awsome!!I love how you have set it up,all those plants and the nice coloured lionhead.Do the axies interact with the fish?I had my guy in a tank next to my fish and he seemed to spend ages looking at or for them.I think you have given us all ideas of things to do to our own tanks, thanks! Your axies look young,do you know what sex they are?

i love that log in the middle! thats such a great setup. mines pretty bland i wish i could do something like that and the bonsai's great too.

yes they looking to the fish and when they are together ,the axies dont move anymore ,i think they are frightened ,a few stressed, the fish dont eat their gills ,but he is very turbulent .
goldfish shake the surface of the sand and eat the rest of frozen waxworm that is useful ,but i think i dont give frozen waxworm to the axie anymore,

the bonsai is a ficus cutting who making root in water (hydroponic)

axies are young ,13/14 cm i dont know their sex i think the biggest is a femelle ....
the 2 lights increase to 2°C the water temperature so i have to bought a chiller .in summer i have 29°c in the room

for info :if its help someone;i bought the chiller 320 euros in france
there are resun little model for 280 euro at
http://www.lemondedelamer.com/ , Resun chiller are cheap but very noisy...

sorry for my bad english ...

the tank is new so plants have to grow to give enough shadow for the axies , they stay hidden ,when lights are on,but walk arround when i turn off the lights

the filter pump 680l/h is not enough strong for the chiller ,so i put a second pump 1400l/h

another good plant is philodendron ,you can cut a part and put it in the tank or just adventitious roots ...its can reduce nitrates

good luck on your tank.

your tank looks fantastic! I'm very impressed! I couldn't afford such a set up but I'm now motivated to save up! your axies must be very happy! your photos are great! how cold do you keep your tank?

yes there are mountain all around here, and forest were i find some little food ,insect, little fish ,etc...
i try to keep 18°c ,64.4 °F in my tank but the chiller is so noisy so i let 19°C,66.2°F,it work less .is that good?

I love your tank - I wish Elsa was a baby again so I could fit a load of stuff in the tank.

She's so big that a place for her to hide in takes up half the tank!
