Awww, vicious from the start, how cute. I love when they do the 'death roll'.

i have this problem with my T. marmoratus! i put them into different corners of the tank and feed them like that. i suppose it would be harder if you've got lots of 'em.

My two are so much shyer than yours - I never see them eat!
Great photos!

Sweet pics, Juraj!

Want to see a neat little trick:

On the third picture down blur your eyes. It looks like the paramesotriton is fighting for food with a miniature Tiger Salamander.

Great shots! Would have never thought they would be so aggressive/hungry. I've had that happen a few times with C. o and blackworms and usually either the worm would snap or I would intervene and make the worm snap.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
