Title says it all. Something seems off about this axie, and not just the missing leg or poor looking gills. I am moreso concerned about the texture of the skin and discoloration.

I have a newly cycled tank, and will be a first time axolotl owner. I was wanting to install plants before introducing an axolotl, as I already have substrate, a large piece of driftwood, and a couple of terracotta hides installed.

But I came across a local selling this sickly looking axie, and was wondering how experienced owners feel about me taking in a potential rescue on my first go?

Actually, someone has already taken in this little guy. If anyone would still like to weigh in with their input, feel free to reply.
