Looks like an Independence Day Auction

To help raise a little money to support the Caudata.org site, I’m putting some this seasons cb offspring up for sale. The auction is for U.S. residents only due to shipping laws and restrictions. As per the latest 10 day weather forecast, it looks like Wednesday and Thursday of next week offers a shipping window temps wise. All bids must be posted on site by 12:00 site time on the 4th of July and the top bid for the lead lot of each species wins with the proceeds for that lot going to support the Caudata.org site. I’ll also have some additional lots available for some runners up as a side deal. Winners will make arrangements with John to make payment, and as soon as he lets me know they’re paid for, I’ll ship them. These newts are European species, not common yet in the U.S.

Auction lot number 1

M. a. apuanus – a lot of 6, a nice colorful aquatic newt, minimum bid starts at $90.00

Auction lot number 2

T. dobrogicus – a lot of 6, another very aquatic newt, long slender “snakes”, minimum bid starts at $90.00

Auction lot number 3

T. karelinii - a lot of six, a sturdy newt, very similar to marmoratus except the color, minimum bid starts at $70.00

Remember, it's for a good cause. We all get lots of invaluable info from this site

Are we allowed to bid now, or not until 12:00 site time?

Thanks David for these wonderful auctions!

Good work, Dave! I'd offer an auction myself, but I have a harder time with shipping in hot weather.

I learned a lesson about offering auctions when the weather is hot. I had to ship sals to someone who couldn't get Express Mail overnight, so I had to use Fedex and had to swallow a chunk of the shipping fee in order to fulfill the terms of the auction.

If anyone wants to find out if they are in an overnight versus 2-day zone for Express Mail, here is where you check:

newt auction....U.S. only..the only time it sucks to be a Canadian!

Looks like the winners are Anthony on the dobros at $150.00 and Michael on the apaunus at $90.00. Please e-mail me your shipping addresses and make arrangments with John for payment. Thanks for supporting the site.

Isn't it still the 3rd of July? I thought the auction was over on the 4th.

My god, I blew that one. It is on the 4th and not the 3rd. If other bids come in up until the actual deadline and bid that top the 2s either of the existing bids, then I will provide more animals to honor it
