Larvae are doing great! And there are plenty more coming. I have been working with a macro camera a lot recently so I thought I would start this thread for you all to see. Here is some of my pictures!

I like the third to last one best, its a great picture! calendar worthy I'd say ;)
 
Inspiring. It makes me want to get a better macro lens. What lens/camera where you using?
 
Looks good. I'm still at the digital slr shoot and point stage. What camera and lens do you use?
 
I am using a canon EOS XSi, lens 100mm macro
 
I use a Pentax with a Sigma 28-80 lens. I am going to have to explore another lens. I am not getting the sharpness that I want. I have to figure out the best way to not get reflection off the glass. I'm going to keep trying.
 
Taking egg/ larvae pictures has become and obsession of mine lol. The dobros all have little arms now :D

    with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
