Marbled Salamander care

I'm thinking about buying a marbled salamander from a local herp store, and I was wondering if there is anything I should be aware of besides what's on the fact sheet. I have a juvenile axolotl at the moment - is there anything I should worry about as far as diseases? My axolotl boarded at the same store for over a week recently and came back healthy and well fed. I also don't intend for them to be kept in the same room.

Also, how much handling can a marbled salamander take?

Thanks Mike!

There aren't any salamanders native to this part of the state, but since marbled do live in the north, I checked it out. Looks free and clear.

Florida - in the south. All the salamanders are 4 hours north going 70 mph.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
