Hi

I wan't to do my three years science course on Biological Sciences and specialze in Pathology, what sort of income do they earn in Australia. I've earnt a scholarship to the UWA for a specialist course for high school students.

Thank you

I don't see much data on their specifically for marine biologists(but holy cow enviro science seems in demand in Aus.) I'd just like to say as a fellow aspiring marine/ or bio biologist(not pre med biologist ;) ) don't go into it for the money as it is hard to actually land a good paying job as a marine biologist(assuming you mean one working with actual animals). Keep in mind it is a crowded major(what science person didn't want to be a marine biologist ever?) and if you are interested in aquarium work or similar alot of volunteer work is recruited and funds are not exactly the best.

Congrats on the scholarship!

I was a biology major in college and kind of specialized in marine biology. I wound up being a machinist in a fire truck factory and selling salamanders on the side. I'm not sure about pay in Australia compared to the U.S. What I heard back from grad students about the possibility of finding good steady jobs in the field was one of the reasons I quit pursuing that career. That was 30 years ago and I think things have changed for the better.
