Hey guys.

I have 2 ribbed newts. I know they are about 1 year old. I was looking fore info about their maturity, but couldn't find anything. Could anyone tell me at what point are these newts considered to be adults?

They dont stop growing. The process just slows down with age. At a year they should be able to breed.

Hi In my experience keeping them over several years they will breed a 9 months but they have to be big and that's the key not age. Once reached the size of a smooth newt they will spawn but only lay a few eggs at a time. My largest is now at the 9 inch mark and gets bigger each year . She will spawn every 10 days with about 100 eggs for a few months and occasionally out of her usual season . I hope this helps Regards KB
