Hello! I woke up this morning to a very cloudy tank (see picture), it happened overnight. It's been hot here so the tank sits at about 20C, but I have a fan blowing on it. The tank (10 gallons) has been established for about 6 months and Ive had my axolotl in there for about 2 months.

I have a fluvial aquaclear filter and the tank is bare bottom. I feed him 2 cut up earthworms with tweezers once a day. I do a 25% water change every week. The water parameters are: nitrate - 0, nitrate - 5, and ammonia - 0.

I did a partial water change today and cleaned the sponge/canister of the filter in old tank water. My axolotl is not showing any signs of stress, but does anyone have any ideas for what is causing this and what I should do?

Thanks IMG_1411.jpg

i would just polish the water with a half cut bottle water and quilt batting or whatever you use and let that run over night. do a water change and that should do it

What do you mean? I'm not familiar with the terms polishing/battling water. Thanks for the response!

I also just checked and have a ph of 6.8 could this be contributing to the issue?

Probably an algal bloom...did you cycle your tank in those 6 months? How are the water parameters looking (ammonia, nitrite and nitrate)?
