Mixing Species !

I want to put my chinese firebellies together with my Pleurodeles waltl !
How is that ?

That would be a really bad idea for the firebellies, to get an idea of why find and earthworm bigger than your firebellies and see how many seconds it lasts with the waltls, I am sure the waltls would enjoy the firebelly snacks.

Well all right ! not a good idea !
In the pet store where i got the waltls they had both these species in the same tank-i guess it is because they are still quite young !or well fed !!

Niels, most pet stores take terrible care of their animals. A common mistake is to refer to the pet store as an example for how to care for animals, but when it comes to herptiles, most stores are terrible. A FEW pet stores are great, but they're the exception, not the rule.

I just wanted to check if it was possible since the firebellies actually seemed to be all right in that tank inside the store -
I am now setting up another tank for my firebellies !

I've seen a pleuro attacking a goldfish once (it was before I discovered this website

). The goldfish was 2 times bigger then the pleuro.
So I can imagine how they'll be happy to take their chances on a smaller newt
