So my new worry about my small colonly of T. Shanjing is that i am underfeeding them. i feed them everyother day with night crawlers, giving each newt one section of night crawler that is between 1 and 2 inches long. they seem to have no problems with the length of the earthworm peices, but should i offer more?

They seem pretty content, four of them are eating voraciously and am i planning on moving them to a communal enclosure probally by the end of august, but i dont want them to suffer from malnutrition from me not feeding them enough. The other two are being problematic (see my other thread, but i am going to try some new things to get them to eat this week).

I feed mine as much as they want, they especially like earthworms and waxworms. They can use the extra food because they're weakened from there journey from China to here. I don't think you can overfeed them. So I would give them as much as they want. Good luck with yours.

Waxworms are definately a good 'fattening-up' food, as they're pretty much all fat. lol. while they're still 'new' and adjusting to your care, you can feed them extra. just dont make them obese.

most of mine are pretty robust and thick around the middle, that is why they only get waxies as a treat. I guess it wouldnt hurt for them to get a little more fat before i deworm them though...
