Just brought this 4" juvie home, and I am having difficulty identifying what color morph it may be. The breeder says copper leucistic because of the eyes. Others say melanoid leucistic because the eyes do not reflect the gold ring. I'm stumped. If the baby were a melanoid, it would lack iridiphores which are so prominent on the gills. Do leucistic coppers always have the reflective ring?
I apologize about the low-quality picture taken through plastic, but I do not yet have the tank set up. The other set of pictures is from the breeder.

I agree that the baby certainly has irridophores in the gills...and that it appears NOT to have them in the eyes. Still, even if it does not show the eye ring I would think melanoid would still be ruled out because of the ones in the gills. It may be just a little odd-ball that does not show them in the eyes? As for it being a copper lucy...it does look like the pictures I have seen of them, but I am no expert on coppers.
