Grumpet went ice fishing and left me with some containers of "mousies." They look like waxworms with a string on the end, anyone ever try them?
 
I haven´t tried them, but since ( i think) these larvae eat detritus, and therefore should have weak mandibles, they should be fine to use.
 
In the uk we call them rat tailed maggots.They are a larvae of a species of hover fly.


I have feed one before to a crested newt with no problems but they are usualy from polluted waters.
 
Maybe I'll just feed them to the lizards rather than risk Eddie and Elektra with polluted maggot strings.
