Hi Everyone,
I have a 6 year old axolotl. A few months ago, his mouth started looking different. The skin around it is puffy and white. It doesn't appear to be a fungus and it doesn't really change much. I treated him for a fungus a few months ago but it didn't change his mouth. Water parameters are good and the water is cold. I use a sponge filter and do a 20% water change once or twice a week and vacuum out the waste. He is eating and appears happy other-wise. Is his mouth normal? Could it be his slime coat? Curious if anyone else has seen this before.
Thanks.
