I did a bit of moving and re-working the tank layout, I also put some new stuff down, mixed with the sand to give a bit pf funkiness!

Result:

And don't worry, they can't swallow the rocks, they are really heavy and big...

They might not be able to swallow the rocks, but they could swallow that gravel! Get it out of there ASAP (or use silicone to glue it to something!) :(

No, that's what I was referring to, they can't get it. don't worry

Is it glued down, Zoe? Otherwise they WILL get it. Om nom.

You should see some of the rocks axies have swallowed... Check out this thread

Don't risk it hun!

okay. Will do asap.

Good work. It's always lovely when people take advice, your axies are lucky ^_^

Now then. Can't disappoint your mum, what tank renovations are you gonna do instead? ;)

Well, it's the same without the gravel. lol

But there's a little hide tunnel for the 3 shrimp purchased today!

Your tank looks really good, with and without the gravel!

Inca's substrate is dreamstones... and they're way to large and heavy for her to move around now. She also has a terracotta pot she hides in and a rock. I'm going to add some plants when I get my funds back up - but she seems happy enough :)

The place I got them from quarantines all their stock, and isolates ill fishies and stuff.

I think there's only one left now!

Plus, I woke up this morning to find pinky in the small tunnel i put in for the shrimp, when I helped her out, she looked ever so confused...LOL

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
