i only had my oregon newts (2) for three days and all ready the water is murky and i have a filter i have a 10 gallon tank and my filter is good for a 5-15 gallons why is me water murky ?

There are several possible reasons. The most likely is that you are feeding the newts too much, and the uneaten food is rotting. There is no filter in the world that will "detoxify" the effect of rotting food. You have to clean it out after every feeding. What kind of food are you using?

If the water smells bad, get the newts out of there right away. Keep them in a smaller container (secure lid!!!) and change the water every day until the 10-gal tank is looking good.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
