Get rid of the gravel please or your axies will become ill and possibly die! :(

And what is your wildtype eating in the 3rd picture? Looks like a sucker fish of some sort, that shouldn't be in with axies at all either!

A few tips

-Get rid of the gravel-if swallowed it can cause impaction and death
-Not a good idea to use feeder fish unless you raise them yourself (guppies are pretty easy and are small) because they can pass all kinds of nasties to your axies or nip the crud out of the gills

The gravel is beautiful, looks like sweeties, maybe you should move it to a fish tank :) but yes unfortunately it has to go. :(

Haha i know i know i got rid of the gravel a long time ago :) umm shes eating a feeder and yes i do breed them myself so im sure theres nothing wrong with them. although im going to switch to a different kind of fish. maybe ruby red feeders.. hehe

Heres some more pics of my babys :3 They've been growing nicely ^^ i got them at just under an inch, one was smaller than the other, now the smaller one is at 1 inch, the other is at 1.3 hehe ive only had them for a few days so thats good for me xP

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
