Nuka's isn't entirely healthy, we just moved house n she's gone off her food a bit...she's starting to settle back in though

You should take her off that gravel...otherwise she may ingest some accidentally and get very ill.

hi myst
she is very cute...your tank looks good but i would get rid of those rocks ....she could put them in her mouth and then they will get stuck......bare bottom, sand or gravel smaller than 1mm is best cause then it just passes straight through......what does she eat???

Oh yea the gravel is history, that's an old picture, atm she's on some big river pebbles with smaller stuff underneath for the plants...I'm thinking of switching to sand/tinygravel because its hard to maintain the 2 levels

she's eating lots of things atm because I used to feed her beef heart (yet another bad suggestion from the petstore I got her from)... she's currently sampling bloodworms, she seems to like them but theyre damned hard to handle, they have a tendency to disintegrate the second they touch the water, I really wanna try some of those pellet thingies, but I'm not sure where to get them

I also handfeed her to reduce the chances of swallowing the gravel

eatthworms are the best thing to give them but beefheart, bloodworms are good as a treat......i cleaned out a peanut paste jar and put her food in that.....then i just take the jar out when she is finished eating and empty the left overs out..... tank stays clean and left is easier

oh that's a good idea, i think I'll try that... would i just get earthworms from a petstore?

I like the gold spots on her face :) you might be able to get earthworms at a pet store. they should be able to order you some or you can get them at a local bait shop. That is where mine come from

pet shop is good or you can dig them up from the garden as long as you know the garden hasnt had pest stuff or fertilizer used on it......a wormery is another good easy idea.....i buy them.......
