My axie and tank set up

Here are some pictures of my new axie and his new set up. He has 2 plants, one of them being some java moss that is being attatched to his rocks in the left. And, I'm not sure what color he would be considered, because he has a yellow tint to him but you can't really see in the pictures and he has golden eyes, but he doesn't look gold enough to be a golden albino. Since I have had him his gills have grown and are looking a lot more red, so he is looking good. And yes there is a light on for the picture but I do not normally have a light on. Well here they are:

Very cute. I'm pretty sure that is a golden albino with some nice reflective pigmentation thrown in. Whats his/her name?

His name is Yoda. Got the name because my girlfriend's half sister (shes only 2) was calling him yoda because I guess someone was talking about star wars and she got confused and thought that was his name. So I just kept it lol. Oh and yea he does have the reflective pigment, his eyes are the coolest tho, when its dark but a little light in the room his eyes are the only thing that glows.

Yea lol, I recently put in the sand, I think he likes it more and it is a lot easier to clean up. The rocks will be cool as soon as the java moss grows onto them.

Here is my axolotl (Bellota) out of water!
He is in the process of metamorphosis (i think).

Most axolotls don't metamorphose. I think he's probably stressed out from the water level being that low.

Thats not in metamorphasis. If it was it's gills would be a lot smaller and it's tail would not have the extra skin on it for swimming. You really need to put more water in that tank or it will die.

Bellota looks much happier. I'd be concerned about Bellota eating the gravel though. Be sure to keep an eye on him/her to make sure they're not ingesting any of it. Small gravel can be ingested and cause impactions, which can lead to problems, including death.

hey grant.sorry for replying to such an old post. but on that lat pic those whitew things on the plant do u know what they are? they look like the stuff that was in my tank. it just got worse and worse i couldnt get totally rid of it... just wondering if u know how.

hey firebugjen, i live in cairns also, how does your axie cope with the heat or do you have a chiller, i tried looking for suitable sand in cairns and had no luck so far
