My axie is fading colour?

I've had my axie for about two weeks and ive noticed today that his gills are no longer bright red/pink but a dull colour? what does this mean? we are moving him to an area that will have a little less sunlight. He seems to be eating okay :/

It may mean that your axolotl is just chilled out and relaxing Could you post us a picture so we can see?

His gills will change with blood flow. lots of things effect blood flow like stress,water temp, oxygen content ect..
Its realy obvios in albinos and goldens

Yep he's probably just being a bit lazy, haha . One of my boys can look absolutely stunning one day (beautiful, vibrant red gills) then look pale and dull the next. As long as he's eating well and seems fine in himself, I'm sure he's fine.
