I have to say I'm quite jealous!! Such a large tank... I could do so much with that tank.

Thats a really good size. They love to swim the length of the tank now and then.

Thanks
Yes my Axolotls are very happy in their big tank

Those little guys have absolutely huge gills. Very nice tank by the way.

Very nice tank and adorable axies but as antcatcher11 said I would replace the gravel with sand. It's really better for them since they can swallow gravel which can (and probably will) cause impaction. Impaction often times leads to death.
They do look great and I love the gills.

Oh my god! I would LOVE a tank like that! And your axies are so cute.

Thanks,i am also very happy with my tank.
There is also enough space in the tank for my 2 golden baby's when they are bigger.
I try sand but even when i wash it 3 times befor, the water in the tank wasn't clear.
The breeder of my Axolotls breed them for many years on gravel and she have never problems with it.

You will have to wash the sand until the water runs clear, it's a lot of hard work but isn't the health of your axies worth it?
And it's not because the breeder hasn't had any problems in the past that you won't.

Those axies look stressed to me. They have the forward pointing gills. From the first picture it also looks like you don't have many hides.

I will agree with the more hides bit, they do seem a little exposed. Axies do love to hide.
As for the forward facing gills, its hard to see. They do carry them a little more pert when they are babies. I can see they aren't sitting flat against the head but at that size any movement in the water can cause them to sway forward.
Obviously providing more hides may help to correct this as they help break the water flow.

My Axies are just 5 months old babies.
First i keep them in a 60cm tank,with 12 plants and 3 hidingplaces.
For the 200cm tank is that to little, but there will come more plants and hidingplaces.

Greetings,Loes
