These girls are laying eggs like mad just now. I saw a bit of tail fanning a while back, so I hope they're fertile. I'll leave them in with the parents for now, but if they start to develop I'll remove them.

This is my biggest, fattest female. She's looking absolutely miserable at the moment!

Congratulations Louise. I've a good feeling, having seen that male. You've done very well to breed them. I hope the raising goes well.

I feel like happy, your work works.

Thank you. They laid eggs back in February also.

Quick update: I have removed the eggs as they are developing nicely and appear to be fertile!

I've had a pair of hongkongensis for 2.5 years. They were quite small when i first got them but are nice dragons now.The male has always been hot to trot in the winter...but nothing ever came of it. It's a heavily planted tank and I can't always see what's going on.

Anyway,I was doing a water change today and noticed two larvae. They look a few weeks old, and are in good shape. They were hiding in a ball of java moss.A closer inspection revealed a few random eggs. I'm now going to have to go back and get up to speed on raising these things. I assume I should take the larvae out of the adult tank.

You never know!

Hongkongs are pretty prolific when they're happy and settled. I have loads of eggs being layed right now too.
