Does anyone else have this (or similar): (I'm sure you do!)
In my fridge I have 5 different containers with various species of worms. In my freezer are a few bags of different sized frozen mice. I also have some frozen over-ripe vegetables I got from the fridge at work when I was cleaning it out looking for... unwanted fruits and veggies (since I myself survive on diet soda and poptarts).
I spent the morning microwaving dirt.
In my guest room are waterbottles with fruit fly maggots. I'm waiting for bugs to arrive in the mail.
In my basement...well, you get the idea. And I wonder why no one wants to visit.

oh, there goes the microwave!

mmmm dirt....breakfast of champions...
I was thinking about purchasing a mini-fridge (with a freezer) specifically for my little guys.
My 'guest room', well lets say we should start charging our guests 5 dollars to enter there is so many critters. It sounds like a grand time at your house.
You know how people do worm cultures with compost outdoors? seeming i live in appartment with no rooftop acess or a yard, i was thinking about doing a window box planter, but full of worms, you think that can work?

When we remodelled our Kitchen we put in two extra cupboards for fruit fly and springtail cultures. Does that count?

I think maybe if you used a big tub...so larger than a window-box planter. In the spring when I clean up and ready my garden, I often find lots of small baby worms in my planter pots that have stayed out all winter. That's where the best quality of dirt is. I think it attracts them. So I think you could give it a shot.

And Michael, if you actually renovate your house to accomodate bugs, it not only counts, it'll get the neighborhood talking as well!

Well, lets see.

There is a package of brineshrimp eggs, some silkworm eggs, and plant fertilizer in the fridge(someone better not mistake flourish for Catsup).

Their are several frozen foods in the freezer.

Their is a metal rack overflowing with random critter related doodads and tanks very visible upon entering the house.

I always like to keep a few bugs on my desk in my bedroom so I have something to look at if studying is not what I feel like doing! (happens to be quite a bit unfortunately)

Fridge contains: Blackworms, various containers of earthworms, and the occasional veggies for the turtles.

Freezer contains: frozen newt, frozen rats, frozen hamsters, and sometimes pizza. The rule of thumb is: if it's in the door of the freezer, just don't open it.

Second bedroom (I got a two bedroom apartment for myself, so the critters could have one): 4 ambystomatid species, 2 tanks of taricha, one himalayan crocodile newt, two turtles, and the occasional cat.
