Wow! That golden speckled one is quite unique I wonder if it will retain that pattern or whether it will broaden over the whole body with age
 
Hey Nathan, I have seen Axies that have the same white coloring with the gold spots. The person I got my axies from had ones that looked very similiar. Very cute Monica! Hey, where did you get your get Axies from? You live in Modesto, I live in Sac. I would like to get another axie, an albino one, or maybe a gold, or even another white one with black eyes. I have a black axie, a white axie with black eyes, and a wild type. Beautiful tank setup by the way! Great job!
 
Hey Monica I too live in Modesto, just noticed that when Rheann said something! Those are some really cool looking axolotls! Did you get them from Exotic Birds and Pets in Ceres. Thats the only place around I've seen them sold.
 
no, i have no idea. I saw pics, that's all. I think that they were near to the age in the pictures above, not sure though. They were albinos but had the little goldish spots on them. I didn't see the pics until later though. If I saw them when I was getting mine, I would have gotten one! It's too hot now to ship Axies anywhere, if I want any axies, I have to find them here.
 
There's even yellow spots on the gill branches! Cute, very unusual.

Names - my favourite name is Bram. I have a dark wildtype called Bram.
 
Very cute! I am horrid with names. It has taken me 6 months to name the last one of mine lol

I got these guys as eggs from the University. They were having trouble hatching them in the lab and I was given some to try to hatch at home. I didn't have any trouble with it so maybe it was something in the lab? But they have things settled and have 30 to use as a breeding colony so I was told I could keep the ones they had given me. I was up to my knees in axolotls (Had about 14) but have found homes for most of them. It was a wild type egg batch and I had three albinos out of it. I decided to keep two of them, the gold one and the speckled one. The third one was one of the first to be taken. I have about 4 wild type ones left (and one gray/dark one Rheanne if you are interested).

I didn't know exotic birds and pets carried them. I haven't been able to find any pet store that was knowledgeable in them. I'll have to check them out. And Bram is a cute name

Hey everyone, I am trying to get this little guy that Monica mentioned. I am looking on the net for same-day delivery services, can anyone help us out here? Can anyone recommend a good company to ship from Modesto to Sacramento, or possibly how much it will cost? The Axie will be packed in ice, same day delivery. Monica and I are playing email tag trying to figure stuff out

hey Grant, Monica I believe has four others avaible still, they are the wild type ones pictured. She is having a baby soon, so she can't send my litte guy until after the delivery, which he is very well worth the wait

I will email her and ask her about the wild types for you, she and i chat together online. When I get him, I am going to name him Rugby, but I don't know for sure if he is a girl or a boy yet lol.
 
By the way, I think it is so funny how Axolotls have pot bellies when they are babies. It is so cute!
 
omg they are so cute. they all look so healthy too. i cant wait until mine get that little? :S/lol they are only eggs at the moment. they have such good colouring too.
 
Thanks guys. I wasn't going to keep any of them and then I fell in love with these little guys! I decided to keep four, one of each color. I'll have to upgrade the tank size as they grow.

And Grant, I do have four wild types left so if you are interested email me at msmith_11@sbcglobal.net and maybe we can work something out. I have someone else who wants to buy all four off of me but I'll wait to hear from you.

Good luck with your eggs Shane. They are so much fun to see hatch and they grow so quickly! I had trouble finding something for them to eat when they were new hatchlings. I tried making a brine shrimp hatchery but found it sooooo hard to get the newly hatched brine shrimp out to feed. I ended up getting black worms and chopped them up finely. They had no problem eating these!

Well my girlfriend already has 2 axolotls and she is looking for something unique. She has a wild type and an albino. But she doesn't really want another wildtype lol. But thanks guys!
 
Isn't it cute how Axolotls have chunky little bodies but skinny little arms? I love that! Especially on the babies.
