My newts are injured and won't eat

both of my newts have a wound one on the tail and the other one on the side, does their injury make them not eat? What do i do?

It's possible that they might have an infection from the wounds. More information is needed. What species of newts? What type of setup are they in (i.e. terrestrial, aquatic, half and half)? What are you trying to feed them? What types of wounds? Can you describe them or do can you post a picture? The more info, the better the chance for someone to help you.

they're fire belly,mostly aquatic but the like land more, i'm feeding them blood worms but i cut it in fourths. i don't really know if i can get film then i can take a picture.

Sounds like you might have a similar problem to the infected newt string currently running. The info there can probably help you

I read that some of the salamanders were eating crickets and earthworms, will fire belly newts eat frozen blood worms? what other foods will the eat?

Live bloodworms and earthworms. But if your going to feed them either one of these make sure you put some frozen bloodworms in the water to because the smell will make them start hunting.

Live blackworms work for most of my smaller, more aquatic newts. And I get mine from California

oh ok thanks, hopefully they'll eat...what can i do so that the cut they got will heal? (its probably infected now)but if there's a medicine at the pet shop then i can get it.

Look around in fish stores and you should find some. Depending on what city you are in, A lfs near me has them regularly and may be worth the drive.

My newts died a while ago,sorry forgot to post. one had their guts spilling out from the side and the other one was gone when i came home, soo ya.. THanks for the help.
