Just changed my Tiger Sal’s tank. Here it is! I’m open for criticism and compliments! The left 1/2 is moist and clumps when squeezed, the right 1/2 is slightly dryer and doesn’t clump but is still saturated. Size is 24x18x12 with 4 inches of topsoil mixed with coco-fiber.

Yeah, when I set it up I had the same thought. Used to have a flat cork bark but it was ruined by mold. So I had to use what was in my arsenel at the time. Next time I hit the pet shop I’m definitely picking some up!

Looks like a great setup! How do you feed your tiger? So many places to hide. D0 you leave food at a specific area or let it roam around?

I used to Hand feed nightcrawlers, but recently I’ve switched to setting the worm on a food dish and letting him hunt it on his own. This way I can monitor what he eats and still have him hunt. I’m recently decided to start growing Isopods as another feeder. Thx to @Herpin Man!

Very nice! All I would say is replace the plastic plant with some live plants.

Planning on going BioActive in the future with live plants springtails etc. The process is expensive so I’ve not gotten to it yet!

Nice to see you can use Pothos. Have you gassed to kill parasites? How is every thing going 2 years on?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
