I figure while I'm at my newts I may as well post my frogs too. The upper left is Pagoda, the bottom is Fatty(not the fattest any more), and the upper right is Little Guy(not so little any more). It's interesting to note that they're all in their favorite individual colors right now.

I've also noticed that since I've had these, I've really been able to notice differences in head size/body shape/color between any individual frog I see of this species. Fatty here(shown in the front) has a broader head shape than the others, while Little Guy's is the smallest.

Awesome!! It is so strange how coloring is with White's! I have one that is brown much of the time but can turn as green as the other one. Here are a couple pics---do you notice, too, how your frogs kind of hang out together? White's seem to be unusually social compared to most frogs?

Thanks Mark---part of it is made with a plastic play treehouse that I got at a garage sale for $1, heh!

I'm not sure I ever paid attention to whether my whites hung out together or not.

Live plants are optional of course and sometimes I find them to be a pain but I'm a plant person and I just couldn't allow myself to have fake plants anywhere in the house. It's almost like my frogs aren't the only pets I have in there

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
