need advice for good fauna in tanks

I'd like to flesh out my tanks with some other creatures. Fish, snails, frogs, eels, etc. I really don't a clue what to get. Anyone have some advice or a favorite creature?

Do you mean that you want to setup separate tanks for these other animals or mix them in with your newts?
