Hi, I was away last week, and it seems Ziti isn't feeling well, so I am concerned. Before I left, Ziti was eating, swimming around the tank, and had good color. When I got home two days ago, my son informed me that he had woken up and seen that Ziti looked grey and was so active in the tank; he looked like a rabid raccoon. Ziti was all over the place; he would be at the bottom of the tank, zipped quickly up to the top gulp air, and torpedoed down to the bottom. My son cleaned out his tank and removed the rocks from the bottom, so now Ziti has his tubes and a few fake trees. I have been watching him for the last two days, and he is very lethargic, and his gills look skinny. I am finding Ziti in the corner of the tank near the filter with his head down and tail up. I am using API to check the water parameters, and all is good. This morning, I saw a small white dot on his tail. I also found stuff on the bottom, and I am not sure if it is throwup, slime from his coat, or part of his poop. We are trying to keep his tank at 60 degrees Fahrenheit; it is hot here in NY. Any suggestions on what we should do?

Below are photos of Ziti, the first and the third is how he usually looks

do a full test on your water parameters including kh gh.
if possible increase your water oxygenation.
how are you cooling the water?
add 2g/l non-iodised salt (or 50% holtfreters + 0.1g/l magnesium sulphate if your kh/gh are low) this will help with the gills whilst also being beneficial health wise.

We are cooling the tank water by using a chiller. It is currently set at 58 F, the water temperature is 60° In addition to your recommendations, will a tea bath help?

tea baths are useful for fungal issues but due to being acidic can be stressful, a few almond/catappa leaves in the water will be beneficial and less acidic.
