Hello! I'm a new axolotl owner, but experienced in animals. I'm a registered vet tech and am currently in an animal care college program, yet obviously we do not learn about axolotls in class. I got one about 2 weeks ago from a seemingly reputable breeder. His name is Sunny, he's a golden albino, and very young. I know axolotls can contract a fungal infection and am freaking out because he has white "specs" on his body and gills, but they aren't fluffy or cottony looking, just looks like part of his skin. Otherwise, he is very active, LOVES to eat and his temp. is always kept in the 60's and also has an air pump filter. I'm very worried about him and love the little guy. Any help would be appreciated!! thanks
