Ive had my axie for a year and a half, she has never been sick before, I check the water parameters every week, feed her well, and make sure the temperature is stable. I live in a desert, which for some reason is way hotter than normal this summer, I think it may be ruining the temperature of her tank, thus causing her gill fungus.. im not sure if that may be the cause, I ordered an aquarium fan to attach to the top of her tank online which will arrive soon in order to keep her cool, she has white cotton-like pieces on her gills and she has them curled forward.. im not sure how to cure this, I really need help as im very worried that she might get really sick, I don’t want to give her a salt bath because I heard it is risky, someone please help asap

What are the water parameters? What is the temperature of the tank?

I tested a few minutes ago..
PH is at 7.2ppm, ammonia at 0ppm, nitrite at 0ppm, and nitrate at 40ppm. And the temperature is at 65F

You should keep your axolotl in 40–50% Holtfreter's solution at all times to prevent these sorts of things from happening. Thankfully, it's not too late and it's pretty easy to make Holtfreter's solution, so I'll explain. To start, I recommend making 1 gallon of 80X concentrated 40% Holtfreter's stock. Buy a big plastic 2-3 gallon jug from Walmart. Buy 1 gallon of distilled water. Put 435g of NaCl or table salt (NON-IODIZED, just buy Morton's), 13g of calcium chloride, 6.75g of potassium chloride, 25g of sodium bicarbonate, and 29.7g of magnesium sulfate into the jug. You should be able to get all of these chemicals within the next day or so at a store or on Amazon. Dump the gallon of distilled water into the jug. Mix it thoroughly by shaking. Then, for every 5 gallons of water in the tank, add 1 cup of this mixture. During water changes, I remove 5 gallons, so for every water change, I just use 1 cup of the mix, and it lasts me several months. It keeps your axolotl happy and healthy. While the axolotl has the infection, double the dose. Once it goes away (which it should), just return to the normal dose, and eventually the water will return to 40–50% Holtfreter's solution. I made this change about 2 years ago and have had no issues since.
