The last 2 days my axie has been on his side he seems alert no fungus no curled gills etc he isn't eating.

Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 15
Bare bottom temp 17-18degrees.

He's tubbed to stop stressing her out.
I woke up to this this morning in her tub don't know if it's poop or sick.

Any ideas what is wrong ? I would take her to a vet but have covid ATM.

20mins ago she was making a hic up going to be sick kind of action and a bubble came out.

Will she be ok as the whole body isn't in water because she is floating.

Thanks

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
