Dear Caudata folks,
My wife, Dr. Natalie K. Björklund-Gordon and I are writing:

Gordon, N.K. & R. Gordon (2014). Embryogenesis Explained [in preparation]. Singapore, World Scientific Publishing Company.

which is based on our experience with axolotl embryogenesis. Right now I'm trying to find a good photo of a left/right chimeric axolotl for the book. I need to know who took the picture, and to get their permission to reproduce it. I have the one by S. Bitzer from a web page that no longer exists (http://www.ambystoma.de/html/axolotl/axolotl_chimaera_en.html), but have not been able to locate that person. I note there is one copyrighted by Manuela Hess at:

and another by jacob at:

Would appreciate a reply from any of these people, or help in locating them, or further photos. Thanks.
Yours, -Dick Gordon DickGordonCan@gmail.com

I forwarded your request to someone who has chimera axolotls - hope it works out and best of luck.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
