Hi there!
As the thread name suggests, im new
I actually only got my lovely little Axolotl a few days ago and i'm in love!

I've worked in the local petshop for the last 3 years and our fish breeder brought a couple of sweet little axolotls in with him on a whim, which me and one of our regular customers brought. Sadly the info our breeder gave conflcts with everything i've read or heard from everyone else. I'm so glad i had a look around online before bringing the little guy home!

So as a result i'm still learning about my little one and will no doubt be asking lots of questions!!!
xx

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
