New Axolotl keeper

Hi my name is Dawn and I live with my partner and our pets in London, UK.

James (my partner) bought me some Axolotls for my 30th birthday a few weeks ago and we are loving them!

We have two golden albino (Sunny and Apollo) and two leucistic (Chubb and Loch) juvenile loxies. We're using the Axolotl forum to find out how to take care of them and it has already been a big help. They have some limbs missing as they were in a tank with wildtypes that were just attacking non stop and I think they have some stones in their bellies as the shop tanks has gravel in them (we are using sand).

We'll post some pictures in the gallery soon and I'm sure I'll be asking for lots of advice over the coming weeks

**update**

There are lots of chunks of blue gravel in the sand now so I'm hoping they've passed it all and are out of the woods. They are hungry all the time!

Welcome to the site Dawn. Glad to hear your axies are passing the gravel, it could go on for some time yet though so don't be surprised if you're still seeing blue gravel for weeks/months.

Just thought i would mention, despite what some people think, there is no evidence to suggest that wild type axies are more agressive than any other, normally aggression will come because of over crowding, size difference, or hunger.
