New axolotl owner

So I recently got into axolotl and bought one! ( he's waiting to be shipped until tank is ready)
The thing is I got a tank (20g) and a fluval filter.... and put prime in the water! I hear/read it will take like 2-3 weeks or even long to cycle and there something I can do to speed it along or something! I want my little guy! Any advice would be much appreciated! Tips and tricks too!

Do you have another tank you can take some water out of?
Or maybe add some leaves or something

I don't have another tank.... what type of leaves! I really don't know what I'm trying to create level wise.... like I know the water has to be a certain ph and all these things just don't know how to do it
