Hey im going to get a Aqua one 103f maxiinternal filter anyone had any experince with these before she puts out 1200l an hour but thats flat out it can be turned down

Just keep in mind that axolotls do not like current at all. If you have an internal filter, you'll have to baffle the output in some way.

I was thinking of runnin the output up to a spraybar

That would be a great choice. Make sure you take pics of your tank for all of us!!

But you still need a small amount of surface water turn over for gas release I dont think they would mind if i pointed the spray bar on to the top of the water in a fairly deep tank(40cm) just as long as i didnt have it gushing

It depends on how much current it makes. If their gills move in the current or their gills start to curl forward - there is too much current. You will have to try it and see.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
