New gill? Is that possible?

Hi!! For my surprise, yesterday I noticed there's something coming out of one of my axie's gills. I looked closer and seems like a part of it, it's black, and soft like the gills. But I'm worried, can it be something else, or is it just a part of the gill growing or something? Thanks!

just looks like a gill growing to me but im unsure keep and eye on it and see if it growis into a gill if not then worry
(or it could just be a growth in the same way people get growths)

wierd, doesnt look gill like to me at all as it isnt the same colour as the rest of your axie but i could be wrong. all of the axies i have had grow random gills have looked identical to the old ones minus the filaments until they got a bit bigger but i am no expert
