Hey, had an account for a while but finally posting. I mostly made an account about a year ago because I wanted to learn about axolotls before getting one. Well, now I finally have my little Tempura :D

Pictures of my tank set up will come as soon as I move a lamp over to it to get proper lighting for my picky camera.

Welcome to the forum! Good on you for doing your research before getting him! -Seth

Tempura is so cute!!

Yeaaahhhh Becca!! Good to see you on here! You should really check out the sub forums and junk. I highly recommend reading through the sick axie and the tank-related threads. They're good places to pick up info.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
