Hi,
I have been interested in newts ever since I bred some wild caught smooth newts (from Wicksteed Park) and introduced the young into the family garden pond where they thrived. This was back in the early 1970s when I was a young teenager and wildlife protection was not what it is today.
I am now building a wildlife pond with the hope that the resident toads will make of it a home. I would like to also introduce some native newt species at some later date when the pond has matured.
Richard
