Hi there all

I have just got 10 Axolotl eggs, I currently have them in one container.
They are doing sudden movements every so often.
My question is shall I leave them in 1 container till they break free are give them a tub each now. I do not like the idea of the eggs being dinner for a hatched one.

Thank you in advance.

No, until they are hatched they are fine fine fine together. The larvae are too little..with weeny little mouths.., to attempt to eat an egg. In fact I'm fairly sure you can keep the babies together for a few weeks until they show differences in growth rate and then it's a good idea to seperate them in relation to size.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
