Hello
I am getting a couple of new axolotls soon, I have started the new tank cycle. I was wondering if it would be at all beneficial to put some of my current axolotls water in to the new tank or could it be potentially harmful for the babies?
(I'm in no rush and won't be getting the new ones until the tank is at the correct levels.)
Thank you

Water would help although the bacteria typically colonizes hard surfaces so a decoration , substrate , or plants from the existing tank would be better to help colonize your new one.

Switch some media from your established filter with some from the new filter. Most of the nitrifying bacteria will colonize areas with high flow and the oxygen that moving water brings with it. Direct contact with established media will result in quickest colonization.
