Question: New to breeding what do I need? Please help

Their fat orange bellies are very cute, sometimes they look like they can't keep themselves upright they are so full:p If all of their bellies are full I'm sure they are getting plenty.

I actually have 6 eggs to look after, so I will have some fun again, I hope

Daphnia are hard to come by in SA pet shops, and my only supplier has no more daphnia (she kept them in a big dam, but something catastrophic happened and they all died).

So basically it's brine shrimp all the way this time around.

I got confused about decapsulated eggs because on one listing a seller claimed his eggs were decapsulated, then in brackets he had written 'non hatching,' so I daftly assumed that decapsulated eggs wouldn't hatch.
Yeah, you have to watch the descriptions! Non-hatching decapsulated eggs are for feeding to fish. Hatching decapsulated eggs are for hatching and feeding to axies. I have only found one brand (Artemia Revolution available from Amazon)

And yes, eggs that haven't hatched should be discarded with the used salt water - they probably won't hatch at all, and the water needs to be fresh too (even tiny BBS produce waste!)

@Piaalexa - babies can move onto chopped bloodowrm mixed in with the BBS at about 3-4 weeks - they just need to learn that not all food wiggles past their nose before you can switch over completely.
