Hi :)

Been reading the site a lot while I was doing my axolotl research! Just joined today. Brought my new axolotl Falkor home a few days ago. Day 3 in his new home and he seems to be doing great! Gave him some food on days 2 and 3 after he'd settled in and he's eating brilliantly :) Going to try my best not to stress too much! Looks so tiny in his tank just now...

How is your water temperature? Many people find removing insulating tank hoods and replacing them with a wire protective lid (to prevent axies flinging themselves out of the tank) helps with temperature control in hot weather, while insulating hoods, by definition, keep heat in. Just something to keep in mind... Nice setup though. And what an adorable little lotl. You must be very proud.

Well unless you keep your house like an oven...I'm sure the current temperatures in Scotland do not present a problem!I have the same tank and last summer propped the lid open and used the occasional ice pack...and all was well!!

Haha yeah, worrying about the temperature here isn't really much of a problem :p Never had any issues with it!

Oh and thank you :) Definitely so attached to him already! His behaviour recently has been worrying me, but I'll make a post about that in the proper section.
